The Wexbury Evening Post

Repair café fixes ninety-one things in a day, and gives up on four

The café runs on the second Saturday of the month in the library and has mended more than a thousand things since it began. Saturday's ninety-one is a record.

The four defeats were a food mixer with no spare parts, two phones and a cuckoo clock that the volunteers have asked to see again.

Wexbury's evening paper, invented: forty stories in five sections on a dense front, a wide stream of pictured stories beside a narrow rail of headlines, the paper's advertisers between them. A demonstration: Wexbury and its Evening Post are invented and the pictures are generated gradients. Built by plinth from EDN and Markdown; the stream's further pages are real pages and are also pulled in place where scripts run; the rail arrives when it nears the viewport and has a real page of its own.
