The Wexbury Evening Post
Cricket club raises half the money for the pavilion roof in a weekend
The pavilion has leaked over the scorers' table for two seasons and the insurers have stopped laughing. The weekend's total takes the fund to half of the twenty-two thousand needed.
The auction's most expensive lot was the right to bat first in the president's match, bought by a man who says he cannot bat.
Wexbury's evening paper, invented: forty stories in five sections on a dense front, a wide stream of pictured stories beside a narrow rail of headlines, the paper's advertisers between them. A demonstration: Wexbury and its Evening Post are invented and the pictures are generated gradients. Built by plinth from EDN and Markdown; the stream's further pages are real pages and are also pulled in place where scripts run; the rail arrives when it nears the viewport and has a real page of its own.
